The HTC Droid Incredible phone by Verizon is selling like hotcakes, but it will soon get competition from HTC EVO 4G and Apple’s upcoming iPhone 4G. If rumors are true,Verizon may be launching a Verizon iPhone. 

The sales of the Droid Incredible comes as no surprise to me, because this is currently the best Android phone in the market. In my opinion, the Droid Incredible is definitely the best alternative to the iPhone 4G.

According to Verizon Wireless Chief Executive, Lowell McAdam, the Droid Incredible would outsell their Motorola Droid phone if they did not have any shortages. The shortages of the Droid Incredible are partially due to components like the advanced screens made by Samsung Electronics. 

 The Droid Incredible sells so fast, that McAdam says that it sells within hours of shipping in to stores.

Right now having enough Droid Incredible’s in supply is a problem for Verizon. Let’s hope they get this sorted ASAP, because in June they will get competition from HTC EVO 4G and iPhone 4G.

HTC Wildfire has a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash and touch focus which seems decent considering the price and the market competition, however the CIF@15fps video recording (352 x 288 pixels) is definitely below expectations.

HTC mobile phones have done a decent job in repackaging a flagship product to cater to a wider customer base. They have managed to include most of the desirable features and still managed to keep the cost under control.  Although a Verizon iPhone is wanted by a lot of people, it’s disappointing to know that Apple may not be launching a Verizon iPhone this year. I’m saying this because of the iPhone 4G prototype hardware with iPhone OS 4.0 you see on the top. It has the newer micro-sim slot which means it doesn’t work on Verizon. The CEO of Verizon expressed interest in having the iPhone on their network, so right now the ball is in Apple’s court. If all goes well, Verizon should at least have an iPhone 4G in 2011. Keep your fingers crossed though, analysts report that a Verizon iPhone this year is still possible.

In the world of Apple, a lot of new products are kept under cover and away from press until they’re released.  Apple launches new iPhone during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). WWDC conference this year is expected to be held in June, so that when we find out whether or not there is really a 4G iPhone comes to Verizon. I hope there will because I know a lot of people who would buy the iPhone if it was Verizon.

OmniVision, the supplier of the 3.2 megapixel camera for the current iPhone 3G has won orders 3G/iPhone 5 megapixel camera for the iPhone 4G. The 4 th generation iPhone will launch in the second half of 2010. CDMA also contain a chip that allows it to be used in the Verizon Wireless network, if the rumors are true.



There are many Verizon Wireless customers that are hoping the iPhone-to-Verizon rumors will finally become a reality this year. Apple is very secretive about new products, so we don’t know if this year will be the year of a Verizon iPhone. Survey data has shown us that many Verizon customers would like to see the iPhone 4G on their carrier. If Apple follows the lead of Google and starts offering the iPhone on multiple carriers, their sales would skyrocket.



Unfortunately a new rumor by Wall Street analyst Brian Marshall suggests that there won’t be a Verizon iPhone until 2011 due to a deal Apple and AT&T may have made with the iPad 3G.

Apple will announce their new products during the World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) this year. The WWDC is being held from June 7-11, so this is the time-frame we can expect to find out about any new products. The following products are confirmed to be announced during this conference:

• iPhone OS 4.0 software will be announced. This allows multi-tasking, file sharing, and a lot more features. Video chat code was found in there too, but this will only be supported on iPhone 4G.

• iPhone 4G with front facing camera. The iPhone 4G prototype photo was leaked online, and many of us now know that it will have a camera in the front.
